heart Sharon performing at the Women of Rock Concert

Quote:
Celebrating a decade dedicated to supporting breast cancer research and awareness programmes, this concert will stage exclusive performances from some of the foremost females in modern pop music, including Melanie C, Joss Stone, Bananarama, Jamelia, Bonnie Tyler, Escala, Sharon Corr and Tulisa (N - Dubz), plus the leading ladies from the West End hit theatre show Mamma Mia.
This year's PINKTOBER program and WOMEN OF ROCK event will be raising money for the Caron Keating Foundation, which offers financial support and grants to all types of cancer charities, professional carers, complimentary healing practitioners, as well as individuals and families who are affected by the disease.

I just got my tickets through the post and I'm getting ridiculously excited

All the acts that are gonna be there will be incredible and it's for such a good cause. We're sitting int row 8 of the Arena which means we're gonna be literally metres from the stage. Will try to get as much footage as possible, but RAH ushers are renowned for their...thoroughness.

haha we literally sat down and after getting over the shock that row 8 actually meant row 2, I was like "OMG THATS JOHN HUGHES!" he looked kinda lost and was just wandering round.

Anywho...

Absolutely brilliant performance from everyone involved but blah blah blah y'all wanna know about Sharon

She wasn't on until the second half, following Brian May and Kerry Ellis (tough job) and preceeding the headlining act Mel C.

Sharon opened with a new instrumental that I haven't heard. Should probably say now I didn't get any recordings, the bass in the Hall ruined the quality cos we were so close to the front. She then launched into Cooleys Reel followed by INAD and then Over It. Can I just say now what an amazing version this was. The house band were the Allstars and my god they were brilliant. This was as full a version of Over It as we've heard. Then she finished with So Young, simply introducing it as "you should know this one..."

Having a full house band really brought these songs to life, like having a trumpet play the beginning violin bit on INAD really was good.

Sharon performed with flair and confidence and everything was spot on.

Bluey was in attendance and performed to his best too. This matched her dress which was a sparkly blue and I can't comment on the shoes cos there was a monitor in the way and some tall creepy Joss Stone stalker guy in front of me.

After the show (after what seemed an eternity and after meeting my other musical idol, Kerry Ellis) Sharon and gang appeared from the stage door and were absolutely amazing. I said hi from all you guys (from fear of lynching by Lisa...) and she says hello back. Gavin snapped our photo (really nice bloke btw ) and I was on my merry way cos getting home was a journey since the tube was closed and we only just made it to Euston in time for the 0134 train to Watford So i get in and the first thing I do is open tweetdeck to find a load of tweets like "OMG WTF"

I'll upload my photos tomorrow, as I'm far too tired right now They aren't that brilliant cos of the creepy Joss Stone stalker in front of me always being in the way but I have one from the SD to share

Hope that satisfies your thirst for knowledge/Lisa forcing me to Corr-Stalk...
