The Fifth member
Hello everybody and welcome back to FM, some of you might recall it was on the old board and I have received a few requests for it. Sadly my computer has been a bit cranky and I almost lost it along with a few other fics but fear not, it has been saved and now the comp is nice again
So here we go, the story contains some cursing and adult themes, which tends to make it more fun Enjoy everyone!
Chapter 1
“Sit I’ll get it,” Andrea said and rushed for her sisters cell phone.
“Thanks” the heavily pregnant Caroline said and sank back into the chair.
“You look exhausted,” Sharon said sympathetically.
“I am, do you remember your last weeks?”
“All too well,” Sharon said with a shiver.
”Yes Frank she’s fine, honestly you called one and a half hour ago! Yes I know you’re worried. Of course we’re looking after her, why you think I’m answering her phone!? Ok, yes I will, ok, ok, YES Frank, bye,” Andrea said half annoyed, half amused and turned to Caroline.
“He asked me to tell you that you’re the most gorgeous woman on the face of the earth.” Caroline giggled.
“Thanks.”
The four siblings were at their fathers’ house in Dundalk for Sunday lunch. They had just eaten and were now chatting away happily in the lounge room. Sharon and Jim were comparing Cals’ and Brandons’ differences, only being a month apart. Caroline and Andrea were discussing names and guessing the sex of the upcoming baby. As for Gerry, he was just happy having all his children around him, he loved seeing Caroline pregnant again. “You would be so proud of them love”, he directed the thought to his late wife. At that moment there was a knock on the front door and Sharon got to her feet.
“Can I help-,” Sharon froze, the young woman in the doorway was a spitting image of her mother when she was at that age. Sharon composed herself with some difficulty.
“Can I help you?”
“I’m seeking Gerry Corr,” the young woman said, she had a calmness about her that made Sharon comfortable.
“Just a moment, daddy!” She called back over her shoulder. Gerry appeared in the doorway and like Sharon he froze, unlike Sharon, he knew who this was, who it must be.
“Thank you blossom,” he said and sent Sharon back to the lounge room with a nod. She wanted to ask but the look on his face told her not to. Gerry turned to the girl, patiently waiting in the doorway.
“Would you like some tea?”
“Tea would be lovely,” she answered and stepped inside. A while later they sat facing each other at the kitchen table. Gerry was searching for the words without much success. The young woman opposite to him came to the rescue.
“My name is Hanna,” she said calmly. He picked the thread.
“How old are you?”
“I turned twenty last spring.” He crinched, she looked and seemed older and he found it hard to believe it had been that long.
“And how’s your mother?”
“She died a couple of months ago,” there was a shadow on her face but no grief. There had been, he could se that, but it had moved on.
“I’m very sorry to hear that, may I ask how?”
“My brother, oh well half-brother,” she corrected herself, “died last Christmas, she faded away after that.”
“Oh my God,” he said, truly shocked.
“Yes,” she said with a soft smile, “we’ve had our discussions.” Gerry tried to gather his thoughts, he could hear his children laughing in the lounge room. It was Hannas' calm that settled him, she didn’t seem neither upset or insecure, just calm and patient.
“How did you find out?” He asked in a voice that seemed more fragile than it was.
“I found a letter in my mothers’ safe-deposit box, addressed to me, she explained everything.”
“How come you believed it?”
“It was the answer to all the riddles, the last piece of the puzzle. When I had read it, everything fell into place.” Gerry nodded thoughtfully.
“Do you have it?” Without a word she handed it to him. He took a deep breath and read a handwriting he had not read in twenty years.
He folded the letter carefully and gave it back to her. Jims' warm laugh reached them form the lounge room accompanied by Andreas giggles.
“I wouldn’t have come if I had known they would be here,” she said quietly.
“Will you come with me when I tell them?”
“You’re sure you want to do that now, and with me here?” She looked at him carefully, he seemed absolutely petrified.
“I might not be able to work up the courage again,” he said determined and left for the lounge room. She followed him close, noticing that they walked the same way.
Let's see how many of my "old" readers will show up and who knows, maybe a few new ones?

Hey guys, sorry about the delay, I got hung up at work the other day. Just wanted to point out that the name Hanna is fictional and has nothing to do with me, my personality or my life. I simply thought it went well with the other names in the story
Chapter 2
Their appearance caused the others to fall silent. Andrea and Caroline gasped at the sight of Hanna and Jim blinked his eyes wide open. Sharon was a bit more composed but was beginning to get irritated and nervous.
“Who the heck is this dad? The look on her father’s face scared her.
“Maybe this is not the best idea,” Hanna said when she saw Caroline’s big belly, concerned that she might upset her.
“It’s too late now,” Gerry said and seated himself on the couch next to Jim, Hanna remained standing. Gerry took a deep breath and got ready to start his story.
“This is going to be hard for me to tell and even harder for you to understand so I’d appreciate it if you didn’t interrupt me.” The foursome nodded in silent agreement.
“Jim, how much do you remember of me and your mother wen you were about eighteen or seventeen?”
“Not much, you fought a little, it was hard for you those years, we were all growing up at the same time. We went to the pub for the first time together.” Jim said cautiously, not sure where his father was heading with this.
“Do you remember me going to Dublin every now and then?”
“Yes.”
“That is what I did after our big rows, you never heard us because we never shouted. But when you love someone the way your mother and I loved each other, you don’t have to shout to cause pain.” He paused to take a deep breath as if to prepare for the next part of the story.
“It was one of those nights when we had fought and I was sitting in a pub in Dublin. I wasn’t drunk but I had had a few pints. People were beginning to go home when I noticed this sad, beautiful woman sitting at the end of the bar, she looked so much like your mother I for a moment thought it was her. We began to talk, we were both unhappy, she was married to a bad husband, my apologies,” he said to Hanna who shrugged dismissively.
“As I said we were both unhappy and what was not allowed to happen, happened. When I woke up the next morning I found a note on the pillow saying ‘sorry’.” Gerry caught his breath and looked at his four children. Jim was literally snow white, Caroline and Andrea were holding hands, tears in their eyes. Sharon leaned her chin on her crossed fingers, fixing her father with her eyes, she was furious. Gerry quivered, Sharon had a long fuse but a vile temper.
“I went home and you mother and I went to Connemara for the day and I told her everything. It was the one and only time she ever hit me and I very much deserved it. The fact that she forgave me only shows what a truly amazing woman you mother really was. Nothing even close to that ever happened again and perhaps we became stronger for it. Eventually we forgot, the four of you took up all our time. I haven’t thought about it for twenty years, until Hanna showed up today.” All heads turned towards Hanna, she felt miserable when she saw the looks on their faces. She saw only, anger, sadness and disbelief and it was not something she had ever wanted to cause them.
“Caroline I’m so sorry you had to find this out now, had I known you were pregnant, I wouldn’t have come.” Caroline was literally shaking.
“Remember that your mother forgave him, so can you.” She said to her father’s children.
“I’m staying at McManus if you want to talk.” She said quietly to Gerry and left the house, knowing that she would never see them again.

Thanks, yeah I'll fix that I'm having some trouble with the size of text but what the heck, I'll leave it as big as it is. Even though that is really big

Here we go guys, let me know if I'm going to fast, enjoy!
Chapter 3
The following day the three girls made their way to their mother’s grave, they needed a chat. They were quiet, all of them submerged in their own thoughts and feelings
"What?” Caroline asked when Andrea froze in her steps. Her sister merely nodded towards the grave where Hanna was standing. Rage stirred within Andrea, she sure had a lot of nerve. Hanna was holding a dark red, gigantic rose, she said something, kissed it gently and then placed it carefully on the stone. She began walking towards them, her head bent towards the ground.
“What are you doing here?” Andrea said sharply, Hanna stopped instantly and looked up, obviously surprised to see them.
“I don’t want any trouble, I’m leaving.”
“You’re not going anywhere ‘til you answer my question.” Andrea was now getting seriously angry and Hanna could sense it, building up in front of her like a black wall that she had suddenly walked in to. She pulled a deep sigh, and for the briefest of moments Caroline saw how immensely tired she seemed.
“I came to apologise.” She said tiredly.
“Apologise?” Andrea repeated incredulously.
“Yes.”
“For what?” Sharon’s voice was cold.
“For coming here, for upsetting you, for unsettling your father, please don’t take the rose away, I’d like her to have it.” Suddenly there was a pleading tone in her voice.
“Take it away?! What do you take us for?!” Now it was Caroline’s turn to get upset.
“Pissed off, protective daughters,” Hanna answered calmly and walked away. As the three sister’s approached their mother’s grave Caroline threw a glance over her shoulder, God, she thought, she really does move just like dad.
“I’m somehow curious.” Caroline told Frank as they were sitting down to lunch later that day.
“Naturally,” Frank replied whilst lifting Gina into her high chair.
“Sweetie, don’t eat with your fingers, use the knife and fork that’s what they’re there for.” Caroline told her four year old son, who, to her great surprise picked up the eating tools and began using them.
“I mean, why did she come here? What does she want? There are so many questions just racing through my head.” Caroline sighed and pulled her hand through her long hair. Frank stood up from Gina’s chair and searched his wife’s face, this was tricky.
“So go tell her,” he said at last,” she down at McManus right?”
“Yeah.”
“So tell her, go ask your questions, she doesn’t soud like the kind of person who wouldn’t answer.”
“She looks so much like mum it’s freaking me out.”
“Yes, I can tell,” He smiled.
“Not helpful Frank!”
“Sorry, look just go and see her, the others don’t have to know, after all you are related to this girl, closely related.” He reminded her. That settled it for Caroline, she was going to see her half sister after lunch.
