Default Calling all American Fans

Calling all American Fans

I know we're in the minority

Where are you from?

Have you ever seen them live?

Have you turned any of your friends into fans?

What was your first Corrs encounter (radio,tv etc) What got you hooked

Etc..

North of Seattle (Anacortes). I had heard 'Run Away' on the radio but had not bought the cd. Then I was home w/ my daughter on St Patrick's Day & saw the Corrs perform a couple of songs from 'In Blue' including Breathless. I can't remember if it was the Today show or GMA but I was hooked. I picked up the In Blue cd & have collected just about all of their cds & dvds. I was also fortunate enough to see them at Woodinville in Aug of 04'. Got all the way up to the front when Andrea invited everyone up. They put on a awesome show & I would see them again in a heart beat. Matt

I'm from the Chicago area. First heard Runaway on the radio in the small college town in Downstate Illinois that I was living in at the time. Bought the albums but didn't really follow them any more than any other group. In 2001, my husband got hooked on In Blue during his mother's illness and death (having no idea about the Corrs' loss of their mother). He began buying all of the albums and whatnot and dragged me into his obsession. He is not an Internet socializer like I am however.
He's seen them live 4 times and I've seen them 3. Dublin June 2004 (him solo), and then three dates on the BH US tour: Woodinville (we were in row 2 as we are winery members by chance, we fell in love with Seattle during a 2002 trip but sadly haven't gotten a chance to go back since 2004), Ravinia Festival near Chicago and the incredibly hot and sticky Boston.

currently in south carolina.

i heard so young on tv sometime in the 90's. but when i went to get the cd, only the remix version of talk on corners was available and it sounded terrible- -not at all what i heard on tv. so i didn't really discover them until in blue and i was determined to find good versions of the older stuff.

i saw them at the vic theater in chicago in 2000. then in 2004 i saw them in paris, london, liverpool, san francisco (where andy handed her tin whistle to me!), saratoga, hollywood, san diego, cleveland, and pittsburgh.

yea, i've recruited some friends.

on a final note- -i'm glad america as a whole doesn't really get the corrs. i feel like a know a secret. plus, they play small places like the warfield when they come here.

Originally from the Cleveland area but now living in Phoenix. I first became a fan back in 2000, joined COL in 2002, and saw them live in Cleveland on August 21, 2004. I can say that I have turned some friends into fans, and my brothers and parents can now recognize most songs! As a teacher, I play Would You Be Happier? for my students sometimes and they went and looked up the video. Several of them downloaded it and are now Corrs fans as well!

I am from Cleveland, Ohio. Believe it or not, I became a fan after buying the first cds at a used record store for $1 each. I think Dreams was the first song I heard by the band. After being lured in by the amazing beauty of the 3 sisters, I was then clobbered by some of the best music I have ever heard. I bought my first DVD player so I could watch The Royal Albert Hall disc. Yes I have converted a few folks into Corrs fans. I finally got to see them on August 21, 2004 at the Tower City Amphitheater here in Cleveland accompanied by one of the converts. What an amazing show. I met people from everywhere.

North Wales, PA here (north of Philly).

I first heard The Corrs on a morning TV show sometime in 1999 and made a mental note of who it was. Later on that year, I was prompted to investigate further and on the last days of 1999, I picked up TALK ON CORNERS and FORGIVEN NOT FORGOTTEN. Each song seemed to be better than the last one, and I couldn't believe all I'd missed.

On New Years Eve, I and my wife managed to see The Corrs (minue Caroline) on the TV on the Millennium celebration from London.

After that, we kept up with stuff here and on the Corrboard, bought and loved IN BLUE that year, and finally saw them live in September of 2000 at the Today Show in New York. There we got to briefly meet some of them.

In 2001, we booked a trip to Australia around the time of The Corrs being in Sydney and Melbourne. We tried to work in Auckland too, but the timings and flight schedules just wouldn't work out, so we had to settle for just Sydney and Melbourne.

What a treat those two concerts were! Seeing the group in Australia in arena settings with thousands of cheering fans was an experience we could never get in the States. So thanks to all of you great Aussie fans for THAT experience!

We managed to see them one more time, on their last tour here. We went up to Boston in 2004 and managed to score front row center tickets. You haven't lived until Andrea Corr sings a song directly to you!

I am originally from northeast Ohio but I currently live in Westchester county right above New York City.

I got hooked on the Corrs through myspace. I remembered seeing one of their CDs at an Irish festival so I looked them up on myspace. And I instantly fell in love with songs like so young and the right time. I ended up purchasing Borrowed Heaven and the rest is history.

And this happened just a few months ago so I am a relatively new fan. Hopefully they will put out at least one more new album someday!

Did you go to the Hard Rock Cafe before the concert? I know a bunch of us met there.

Have actually only "rediscovered" the Corrs recently on Youtube. Have OD'd on a LOT of their material, and am exploring Amazon for material to purchase. Any recommendations? Ahem....half tempted to just purchase it all. ;]

Looks like I win the award for being the farthest west so far. (Boise, Idaho) I didn't know if the folks in the East would like to see Western terrain pics, but thought I'd throw this out for fun anyway. This pic is from Central Idaho where it's possible to trek into still virtually untouched and pristine territory.
