Yes, it's back! Christmas is just a few weeks away and because this takes a while to organise we have to start it now.

I know I sound like a broken record, because I say this to you guys all the time, but please read this thread carefully. Even if you have participated in the exchange before.

The exchange was started by Hayley a few years ago and it's been VERY populary every year.

What happens is this:

You submit your details to me, I mix them all up and pair you up with several other COL members. You then send them Christmas cards, and you'll receive some back from other COL members.

Send me a private message with these details:

Name:

Address:

Can you send cards overseas?

How many cards can you send?

If any, list COL members you will already be sending cards to:

Title your Private Message:

So I can keep track, please title your PM "COL Christmas Card Exchange."

Please make sure that you structure the private message in the same way it would be structured if it was on the front of an envelope. Use a new line for each point, don't use commas. It's too hard to decipher foreign addresses I'm not familiar with if people aren't careful with how they present the information to me. Make sure it appears how it would appear on the front of the envelopes you receive in the mail.

But, that's it! A giant, international exchange of Christmas cards to other Corrs fans. It's lots of fun, I promise!

Nominate how many cards you wish to send:

In the same PM as above, please tell me how many cards you wish to send and whether or not you are willing to send overseas.
If you are not willing to send overseas, I'll warn you that your participation will be extremely limited

It's easier if you can send a couple of cards overseas because COL is so diverse and there is no guarantee that there will be other participants from your particular country.

Tell me if you are already planning to send cards to members:

If you regularly send Christmas cards to other COL members, please tell me who they are so I don't put them in your list. I don't want to give people a list of members they were already planning to send cards to. If you're planning on sending Christmas cards to COL members outside of the exchange, please provide me with a list of these members.

The closing date for entering the exchange is the 26th of November

After that, regardless of when I send the lists out, I won't accept your entry. If you are thinking about it, make sure you send me a PM before November 20th.

I do my best to make sure people receive as many cards as they send out, but once I send the emails I am unable to assume responsibility for the cards.

If you sign up to the exchange, you are expected to send all of your cards.

I don't care if you don't talk to the members I give you, if you don't like them, if you have any issues with them at all - if they are on your list, you are expected to send a card to them.
If you think you are unable to uphold this responsibility, do not enter the exchange.
You are NOT allowed to request cards from certain people, or request certain people to send your cards to. That should be organised in your own time.

The excitement and attraction of the exchange is not knowing who you will be sending your cards to. Seriously, if I get a PM this year that says something like "I don't like this person, can I get someone else?" or "could I please get a Christmas card from this person?" I think I'll flip out. Please, please don't request things like that. Just send me your information and accept the people I give to you.

I'll send out private messages with all the exchange information and lists in the final week of November. At this stage I can't give an exact date, but I will certainly post in this thread once I send them.

Finally, yay! Be excited! I'm excited. Let's hope this year is successful and we get a good number of participants. If you are new to the exchange, welcome aboard! I hope you enjoy it as much as all of the regulars seem to.

Again, make sure you read the steps carefully, and please post here if you have any questions. There will be several people who can help you out, I'm sure.
